Global Bulk Wine Trade Declines More Sharply Than the Overall Wine Market

WineNews reports that the international bulk wine market is experiencing a substantially sharper contraction than the wider wine industry, according to research by Del Rey Analysts of Wine Markets for Vinexposium. During the first half of 2026, bulk wine exports declined by 14.5% in volume to 14 million hectolitres and by 12.5% in value to €1.11 billion, compared with a decline of approximately 4.5% across the overall wine market. Spain remains the largest exporter by volume, followed by Australia and Italy, while Germany leads imports by volume and the United Kingdom by value. Over the 12 months ending June 2026, global bulk wine trade declined by 10.5% in volume and 10.7% in value, highlighting continued oversupply concerns and weakening international demand.
